There is no direct connectivity to Omkareshwar from Delhi; you have to reach Indore first, which is the closest big or well-known city. From Indore, Omkareshwar is approximately 81 km.
By Air:

Delhi to Indore: There are many direct flights available from Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) to Indore’s Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport (IDR). The travel time is as short as between 1 hour 20 minutes and 1 hour 35 minutes. Don’t miss out on grabbing the best deals by booking in advance.
After reaching Indore, you have several options.

- But if the budget is a little tight, then choosing a bus is a good option. They are provided by both Government and private buses, which run from Indore to Omkareshwar.
- You can take a local train from Indore to Omkareshwar Road (OM), which is the nearest railway station to the temple. From Omkareshwar Road, you will have to take an auto or taxi to reach the temple.
By Train:
If you have sufficient time, then it’s a personal suggestion to go by Train as you will get a chance to see the changing landscapes of the country throughout the journey, which makes your journey more enjoyable.
From Delhi to Indore/Ujjain/Khandwa, these are all the major nearby railway stations. As no direct train runs from Delhi to Omkareshwar. You will have to book a ticket to a nearby major railway station.
- If you are looking for Indore Junction (INDB) as the stop, then several trains run from Delhi to Indore, such as the NDLS INDB Express (12416). The journey takes about 12-13 hours.
- If you stop at Ujjain Junction (UJN), which is about 145 km from Omkareshwar. From Ujjain, you can go to Omkareshwar by cab or bus.

After reaching Indore, Ujjain, or Khandwa, go for the same local transport options (taxi/bus/auto) as those used for air travel to reach Omkareshwar.

By Road:
If you are also the one who loves riding or travelling with complete freedom, then nothing is better than a road trip from Delhi to Omkareshwar for a memorable experience.
The total distance by road is roughly 850 to 950 km, which depends on the route you select. The most common as well as well-maintained route includes joining National Highway 44 and then National Highway 52. These highways give a good driving experience.
The journey could take around 14 to 20 hours, which excludes the break time, so it is advisable to cover it within two days and stay overnight somewhere. Cities like Jaipur or Kota can be good for a small stop in between.
